There's nothing better than when you are running around in the morning to get ready for school, and the last thing that you put on is your shoes and they fit perfectly. It is so Awesome when you put on your shoes super fast and it's not too tight, and it's not to loose so they slide off when you are walking. It is also super convenient for me and This is why I im not a fan of boots. It is something that I notice and when I can't put my shoes on fast in the morning I already know it's going to be a rough day.

Imagine rolling over from a long night of rest and peeling your eyes open to check the time. You're heart is slightly racing and feeling a bit nervous because you could be minutes or even seconds away from a blaring alarm. Once your vision finally clears and the figures on your alarm clock are no longer blurry… you see it. The bright red blinking numbers that read 4:36 am. Before quickly shutting your eyes and snuggling back into the covers, you realize nothing else in the world could feel so good in this moment. The amount of comfort from being in your own bed is unlike no other. It brings so much joy and excitement to relax again. And, to add two extra hours of sleep you didn’t except on top of that is indescribable. These moments are quite possibly the most content I’ve ever had in my life. If you have been in any kind of competition, then you know what that title means. That moment you're walking back from the stage, and people are telling you, “good job!” and you can tell by their expression; they actually mean it. Whether you know them or not, their gratification can mean the world. It was emotional then, seeing the tears in people's eyes; but it's incredible when you realize your emotion is what moved them. It’s when you know that you gave it your everything and you can see how proud your parents and teachers are of you that makes the training worthwhile. It's what those hours of standing on your toes and being covered in bruises comes down to. It makes the years of discipline from your ballet teacher, who seems to turn into a sadist when that piano music turns on; worth it. Dance is the most rewarding thing to me and this emotional high makes it absolutely incredible, for three short minuets, everyone's eyes are on you and it's an exhilarating thing. What could be more awesome than a new lace wrapped around a fresh new leather baseball? I’ll tell you what, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! The feel of that fresh ball in your hands before playing catch and breaking the laces in, the way it feels in the glove after catching a toss, the way you feel knowing one missed throw and it shall be dirty and that perfection of the ball is now lost. There is a buzz when it comes to throwing with a new baseball. You honestly can’t beat the feeling. That has got to be one of the most awesome things! Every new pair of clothes feel amazing just for being new, especially socks. Wearing nice socks, is actually unimportant thing, daily routine, but can make waking up better and easier. We all felt that feeling of wearing brand new socks on cold winter morning. I love that soft feeling on my feet especially when it is cold. We wear them every day, and often don’t even think how amazing is to have that soft and warm feeling. We all love it. The fact that proves that is that we don’t usually wash them when we first buy them.I wish socks were cheaper, so i could wear a new pair every day. It’s 1:43 pm. You sit in the warmup room covered in goosebumps. To most the combined smell of chalk, sweat, and liniment hanging pungently in the air would be revolting. But for you, it’s a familiar smell that says, “Home”. Under the sweatpants over your singlet, your leg jackhammers at the ground, pounding out the nerves. As you sip on blue frost Gatorade, your mantra sounds off in mental rehearsal; Pull on the bar, feel the click of the sleeve against the plates, get your breath, brace your abs, lean back, drive through the floor until the bar is all the way up. Six lifters out. Your handler waves, signaling that the bar is ready. Cracking your neck, your shove your phone in your pocket, headphones still feeding your brain with images of raw instinctual aggression through the lyrics of Corey Taylor. As you set up on the platform for your last warm up, the butterflies in your stomach go nuts. Your mental rehearsal and mantra goes off in your head as soon as your feet are in place. Click, breathe, brace, up. This is the process of entering the void. The bar flies up, held for a second and the top, and set down again on the warm up platform, producing a cloud of chalk. Your seventh thoracic vertebra still sings out in hot agony, but it doesn’t matter. This lift is what you’ve been waiting for. 1:45 pm. Four lifters out. The wait is killing you. 1:49 pm. The bar is loaded and your handler marches you out to the opening in the canvas that leads to the lifting stage, you become an awesome power, a hyper aware superhuman before entering the void... like water pulling back into the ocean in preparation for a monstrous tsunami. Your belt is tight, its worn leather constricting your trunk through the chalky singlet as you approach the platform. The card bearing the likeness and memorialization of a lost brother tucked close to your chest presses on you with more weight than its two by three inch sheet should possess. The carpet of the platform meets your feet, a familiar sensation. This is what you came all this way to do. You’ve been here a million times in your head, why should this one be any different? Your hands and shins meet the bar, separated only by the dusting of magnesium carbonate to ward off sweat and ensure the iron cannot escape your grasp. Click. Breathe. Brace... Everything is gone but the dull roar of the crowd and the sensation of maximum exertion... every sinew in your body yearning for release, to give up. Fighting your instincts, you strive upward. That’s the void. Nothing at all matters except standing up and staying conscious and alive. The awesome reduction to the essential functions of existence. That few seconds you get to be free. The college essays, the assignments, money, whatever your family is going through, the anxiety, the depression is all a trillion miles away when you’re in the void. The Regaining a light-headed blurry-eyed consciousness standing locked out having beaten every pound that fought so hard against you, you become aware of the judge giving you the “down” command. As you let the bar down you feel like you’re ready to fall to a knee and gasp for air, but with what strength you have left, you turn to soak in one last moment of the meet. The blood in your eyes, the helium in your legs, the ringing in your ears... and the three white lights blazing bright that signify new ink in the record book. That is awesome. The sound of your favorite music playing while the car is bumping along the road. You are stuck in a limited space for hours upon hours with nothing but your thoughts and possibly other people’s thoughts surrounding you. Car rides are awesome. People always complain about traveling and how long car rides are the worst, but I genuinely love them. There is nothing better than listening to the new playlist you made the night before, while laying down in the backseat, despite the illegality of not wearing a seat belt, and enjoying the scenery. Regardless of the car being such a small space, there is so much to do! If you are bored of relaxing in the back, then take over the driver’s seat. My absolute favorite part of a car ride is when I am unwinding in the backseat and I forget about everything going on in my life and zone out while still being deep in my thoughts. So, no. Car rides are not boring. They are actually pretty awesome. Driving on an open road at 7:30. Watching the bumper to bumper traffic on the other side of the road knowing you are not the same thing. Putting the new Mercedes in the Sport+ mode and flooring it on the open road. Thinking you are going 60mph but looking down at the speedometer and reading 105mph. Hammering the brakes hoping no cops were around and trying your hardest to go the fastest you can and still not get pulled over. No feeling in the world feels the same as driving fast. It is truly just a gift that much do not appreciate and many think is unnecessary but few think is a thrill. Being able to drive cars around and earn good money at the same time is awesome. Getting in a different car every 30 minutes and feeling the engine start is when all problems and concerns disappear and that is truly awesome. Sitting at the kids table on Thanksgiving night, my gaze wandered over to my pregnant aunt, and I was overcome by emotion. All of a sudden, I started contemplating the majesty of human life and creation. I thought about how beautiful it was that soon, this being that was growing inside of her, would soon be a new guest at the kids holiday table. I questioned how something so outstanding could become something so normal in our everyday life. I began imagining what their connection would be like and how close they would be. I pondered the strength of a mother's love and connection with her child. In this moment, I realized: Pregnancy. is. awesome. |
